2025 in the Highlands and Islands: 'Is mise David, tha mi à Manchester...'

At the start of the year I headed north - REALLY north - to do training work for BBC Alba, the Scots Gaelic service. As ever, I was prepared and started each day by introducing myself in Gaelic. They appreciated the gesture, I think. I hopped by plane and train from Glasgow to Stornoway, then to Inverness and then back to Glasgow. There were a few dramas with bad weather and stranded planes but the welcome was warm wherever I went and the food was great. Slàinte mhath!
