BBC Future Voices - it's in their hands...

Every year I do the TV training for the BBC's Future Voices scheme - and every year I'm the one who is challenged by the new recruits. The scheme is a paid journalism training programme for disabled, deaf or neurodivergent individuals. Each year I rethink how I do the training. For example: how do you teach writing to pictures to a journalist who can't see the pictures? That could be tricky. But when a group is as lively, questioning and capable as these young journalists, it all tends to work out. We work together and find a way. The future looks good.
